Managed design of Grimshaw Architects from concept design to project delivery.
Worked with SIr Tim Smit from Eden Project and Tom Hinds from Thinc design and teams to deliver a world leading sustainability experience.
Led the Emaar Development team to successfully deliver the building and exhibition phases.
Led the procurement of designers and contractors for building and exhibition design and construction
Managed the interface with Expo 2020 senior management and content teams
Managed the budget and Project Cost Consultants
Led the tendering of Building and Exhibition contractors.
Led the successful handover to Expo 2020 operations
Leading the administration of all contracts including managing the performance of all parties

TERRA the Sustainability Net Zero Pavilion

Designed by Grimshaw’s New York office, with its main canopy roof solar array and sun following directional“energy trees”

Terra achieves net-zero energy during its operational life. Net-zerowater is accomplished through a combination of mining water from the site,water recycling and treatment of recovered condensate from the air-cooling systems.

Terra also aims to act as a living laboratory that will inspire visitors to learn and understand the issues around humankind’s impact on the natural environment and how we can live a sustainable existence.

Terra transformed into a sustainability and Science Centre post-Expo and along with other major cultural assets, including Al Wasl Plaza, the Mobility Pavilion and Dubai Exhibition Centre, will remain as permanent fixtures in Expo City Cultural center.

Terra is one of the key venues for the UAE COP28 international event to be held at Expo City in November 2023.‍
